Christmas Card Cheer

Don’t you love Christmas cards?! I do.

We have had a photo card every year. I wish I had all 9 of them all on the computer to share with you, but I don’t. They are fun to look at each year in our Christmas card book. The first year we had a photo from our wedding and through the years we have taken them in front of our tree, on vacation, in front and inside of our home, and at random photo shoots with our star photographer Lindsey. They tell our story and hopefully the joy we share.

This is our 2011 card. We had 2 cute ones we sent out. This one was Randall’s favorite. He loves Tartan plaid. I do too. Coming up with a verse to express our year and the joy of Jesus is always my favorite part of designing the card. Picking out the pictures runs a close second!

This was the back of our card this year. The past 2 years we have included a photo on the back that can be placed in a 5×7 frame for the 3 people who might want to frame us! We send about 100 cards each year and look forward to it all year long. Oh, I am also one of those people who includes a letter with her card. I did it even before Henry came along. I didn’t do it last year for various reasons and got scolded by many. So this year I pinned a letter about our year and I must say that I feel much more complete.

I also love to receive Christmas cards. My memo board in my kitchen is filling up with them and it excites me. I clean it off each year after Thanksgiving to get ready for the new ones I hope to receive. I get them from all sorts of folk – childhood friends, family, my parents friends, college friends, adult friends both near and far, professional friends, church friends and the organizations we support. I must say it is one of my most favorite Christmas traditions.

Merry Christmas from my cute boys and me!

Celebrating and decorating with purpose is my favorite thing to do. When I am not filling a tree with ornaments or throwing a birthday party for my golden doodle, I am being mom to a super cool tween son, the wife to a fine blue eyed man and selling real estate. I call northeast Arkansas home and when I am not loving on my people or celebrating in our space, I am using words to express myself here or on my podcast. Be sure to follow me!
