Henry has learned so much about Christmas at his faith-based school. He is learning about the real meaning of Christmas, yet he is also learning the whimsical fun of Christmas. It is so true when they say from out of the mouth the heart speaks. Henry is an open book and it is so entertaining.
Henry will often say “Santa Watch’n” when he gets in trouble. He will also see a picture of Santa and say, “Santa Caus com’n town”. When I ask him what Santa says he goes, “Ho Ho Ho. Merry Istmis”
Because Henry is a feisty little two year old boy, he sometimes has to go to Mrs. Debbie’s office at school for misbehaving. (He has not been in 2 weeks and I am such a proud Mama!) She is the director and loved by all. I think he sometimes wants to go see her so he acts ugly on purpose! (they all go to her office…so don’t sit there at your screen thinking my Henry is a hellion!) Anyway, he always feels ashamed when he goes, hangs his head, covers his eyes with his hands, shakes his head, cries and says “Deb-E Obis”. It makes my heart break and laugh at the same time!!
So, Santa called our house the other night (My Daddy…he has done it for all the grands thus far. It is presh!) and Henry decided to tell all! I put it on speaker phone and wish I could have recorded it. Santa asked Henry if he has been a good boy and that sweet child of mine tucked his head down in the phone and quickly said in a low tone “Deb-E obis” as clear as a bell. I could hear Mrs. Claus laughing the background at the North Pole and Randall and I were in stitches in our den. Henry never smiled and Santa remained composed through it all.
Santa then told him he shouldn’t cry when he sits in his lap like he did over the weekend. Henry quickly said “Mama Want Down!”….that is what he screamed while in Santa’s lap last weekend!!! It was hilarious. My Henry is a hoot.
So, Santa is watching and Henry is making sure he does not keep any secrets from the jolly old man so he will come visit our house next week!
