If you have followed us since we started this blog over 3 years ago, you know I fell in love with cake decorating a few summers ago. Since we moved to Arkansas I have decorated very few cakes (I have no idea why…it just happened like that). I have made them for the Fab Four and other family members, from time to time, but that is it. As I was reading one of the many magazines I get in the mail, I saw an article about cake balls and it sparked my inner creative baker.
So I got the stuff and made them. I made some for my nice neighbor, Jim and my good gal pal, Brittni. I boxed them up, put a sticker on the box and delivered them. It was so much fun! Brittni has texted me too many times to count commenting on how yummy they were.
What is Food Friday without a photo of my little foodie?!
I let him eat in his car in the den when Daddy is out of town. I have decided to spoil him when Daddy is gone so he will know where it’s at…Mama! hee hee. (The child is spoiled rotten whether Daddy is in town or out of town…trust me!) Anyway, we were eating supper in the car in the den watching baby videos and I let him take the spoon to see what he would do with it. It was so cute. He is a stinker!

There are many links to cake balls on the Internet. You can just google “cake balls” instead of me typing the recipe…trust me! I plan to make them and put them on a stick for Henry’s 1st birthday. I will practice on my friends and family until then to ensure I am perfect by our little 1st birthday shindig in early December!

Happy Food Friday!
Abby
Just so you know, I will be drilling you all about cake balls when I see you next. Melissa and I just saw an article in a magazine about cake balls and had a discussion about them. What mag was it? Occassions? Or maybe Family Circle? Anyway, you'll have to tell us all about them.

Abby, I wouldn't tell all your secrets about your cake balls. Let people find out. Real cooks don't tell their recipes.
