Food Friday

Yellow watermelon…yummy! This was my first yellow one and it was so good. My mother-in-law got it at the watermelon farm and had it chilled in her fridge. I stopped by her house one day last week and she gifted me with it. We ate on it for days and days. There is nothing like a cold watermelon in the heat of Summer.
Unusual Peach Cobbler
3/4 stick butter
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 t baking powder
dash salt
3/4 cup milk
1 large can peaches & juice
Melt butter; mix all ingredients except peaches. Pour over melted butter. Add peaches and spices (cinnamon & nutmeg). Bake for 45 minutes at 350.

This was my great-grandmother’s recipe. I typed it just as it was written in her recipe file. My Granny was the best cook. I made this cobbler this week for Randall and it was as yummy as ever. I love making things she cooked. It makes the dishes so much sweeter!

Well, I guess Food Friday has to include something about this little foodie of mine. We found a new “dish” for Henry that is most yummy. My mother asked me if I let Henry eat the majority of it. Well, yes. I just took a bite or two and was blown away that something as simple and 48 cents could have that flavor. Broccoli and chicken is a new hit in the baby food section of our pantry. Henry is not a shy eater and he knows what he likes and dislikes and this made him smile. Such a funny boy!

Happy Food Friday!

Celebrating and decorating with purpose is my favorite thing to do. When I am not filling a tree with ornaments or throwing a birthday party for my golden doodle, I am being mom to a super cool tween son, the wife to a fine blue eyed man and selling real estate. I call northeast Arkansas home and when I am not loving on my people or celebrating in our space, I am using words to express myself here or on my podcast. Be sure to follow me! I am the co-author of a blog called Life with My Sister and have a podcast called Abby As-Is. You can also follow me on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube.
