Henry is here!!!

Henry is here and is cute as a doll!

He weighed in at 7lb and 12 oz and was 21 inches long. A cute, fat bundle of joy.

Abby struggled for quite a while (3 hours of pushing) and finally at about 4:25 after one loud scream from her, Mom, Molly and I heard a baby cry. It was beautiful!

And then we heard the sweetest sounds come from Abby. She told Henry how much she loved him, that she was his mama, and that he was her precious baby boy.

Randall was so proud to be a daddy. He hated to see Abby go through the grueling process of having him. I’m pretty sure it broke his heart that the woman he loved with all his soul was in such pain and discomfort.

Abby is still trying to figure out who he looks like. Abby says he has “our hair”, referring to her and Randall’s dark curly hair. He looks quite a bit like Randall and quite a bit like Abby. Cute. Cute.Cute

We all took turns holding him. Randall fed and burped him. And mom and I were sure to leave before the diaper needed to be changed. That first one can be pretty nasty!

Thank you for praying, for encouraging Abby all along her journey to motherhood. It has been such a fun time in her life, she will enjoy the memories so much.

But not as much as she is going to enjoy Henry.

Pictures to come tomorrow when someone a bit more technical can do it. I really am such a dork about these things. It is supposed to be so easy, and some how I can really mess it up!
